EMG's dual-coil Alnico design spaces the coils apart, creating acoustic "chambers" between them. Sound waves traveling inside the banjo resonator resonate through those gaps before they ever hit the coil walls — a clever bit of physics that puts back the acoustic character that most magnetic pickups suck right out of the signal. The pole pieces are individually compensated to keep string-to-string balance consistent across standard and heavy-gauge strings alike.

The result is a clean, natural amplified banjo tone with zero hum — whether you're micing a stage monitor or cutting a track.
